One Year Later
... Heh, well, I never did get this thing going. Couple reasons why - mainly no muse to write and no set topic to write about.
However, since the beginning of 2011, I have re-found my love for writing on the text based forums for StarWarsRPG again. I had been apart of that community since it's start up in 2003 (helped start with background work on it in 2002). I've been off and on there since then, and had actually retired at the beginning of 2009, as I had a lot of personal crap going on to deal with. Stress in my professional, social, and personal life pretty much killed most any kind of writing bug I had. It also didn't help that I let the politics of the board add into the stress. I was one of the leaders of an upstart group at this board, and it really felt like an uphill battle for me. There was so much red tape and at that time in my life, I began taking it personal and forgot what the place really was about.
However, at the beginning of 2011, I found myself missing the fun I use to have in writing a story. I returned, putting all the crap from the past aside, and made an oath to myself - don't let it get to me. It's a place for fun, to share a story, and to vomit creative thoughts for the other members' enjoyment.
And let me tell you, it has been fun. And it got me thinking, why not use this as an "add on tool" for my main character that I write there? It is in no way intended as my own offshoot RP place. Rather, I see this as being my character's 'journal', a place where he voices his thoughts and opinions on his every day events and interactions. Some might be serious, some might be funny. It's a thought. There's a 50/50 chance I'll actually keep with this. But I figure it might be an interesting topic and read. Ya know, if you are geeky like me.
